Raindrop Turkish House Corpus Christi Participated To Cultural Fest At Texas A&M University

DSC04084Raindrop Turkish House Corpus Christi has received great interest at Cultural Festival organized by International Relation Office in Texas A&M University. Raindrop Turkish House's table has drawn intense interest by faculty and students which cultural stuffs were displayed and traditional meals have been tasted by curious faculties and students at the Island University.

Eid Has Been Celebrated Enthusiastically In Corpus Christi

DSC_0068At Eid ul Adha (Muslim Feast of sacrifice) guests came together in the Raindrop Turkish House and wish merry holiday as well as the cultural dishes prepared have tasted traditional meals. Interest shown by local families and children had a festive ceremony.

Coffee Night 2

IMG_1948Raindrop Women Association organized another monthly Coffee Night on Saturday, October 22nd. This time, purpose of the event was appreciation of the women administrative professionals due to their contribution to the society. Ladies who were administrators in different sectors such as education and health were the guests. Program started with a short video about the Turkish coffee, and continued with drinking temptingly-smelled Turkish coffee. Then, ladies played some games such as Yes-No, Change the Song, etc. Winners of the games got some presents. At the end of the program, red roses were presented to the guests. In the Coffee Night, guests were not only had a lot of fun but they also got some information about the Turkish Coffee and its effects on many popular musicians, poets, and writers such as Balsac and Mozart.

Held For Victims Of Earthquake In Turkey, The Broadcasting Media In Corpus Christi Gave Support To The Campaign

DSC_0002We are as Turkish-American very sad about the earthquake which happened on Sunday October 23, 2011 in Turkey. We would like to thank the people of Corpus Christi and the community leaders for sharing their feelings and also making donations for the helping hands campaign which organized by Raindrop Turkish House. We also would like to thank the KIII TV and Channel 6 for supporting our campaign and making news about the earthquake in Turkey on their headline news. Turkish people need your help! Strong Quake Shakes Eastern Part of Turkey

At 1:41 p.m (5:41 a.m CT) on Sunday, October 23, a quake with a magnitude of 7.2 hit Van province of Turkey near the border of Iran.

According to TRT, state-run network, 601 people were died and 2608 were injured and 187 people are rescued in Van. Officials fear that 1000 people may have been killed by the earthquake. We have received many calls and emails from the community expressing sympathy. We are very saddened by this disaster and extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May God comfort them at this difficult time.
