|Memorable Thanksgiving dinner|
On a beautiful fall evening on Saturday, November 16, many friends and neighbors gathered at the Raindrop Turkish House of Austin to share meal around one table. The most senior guest cut the turkey and the feast began. While everyone was enjoying their delicious food, honorable guest Rev. Ken White , Associate Pastor at United Christian Church, shared his Thanksgiving memories with an attentive audience. He also recounted the story of how Thanksgiving became a national holiday. Following his speech, the world-renowned guitarist Celil Refik Kaya played a unique instrument called rebap which is over one thousand year old Turkish instrument and grandfather of violin, whose warm sound and melodies complemented the friendly atmosphere in the room.
Also genious Sand Artist Berina Suljic presented her beautiful works via projection.
Participants shared their thoughts on what they are thankful for as well.
The volunteers at Raindrop Turkish House would like to thank everyone for coming and making this evening event happen. Special thanks go to our keynote speaker Ken White and Celil Refik Kaya for his live performance.
