Oklahoma City Coffee Night hosted Lt. Governor Jari Askins and Secretary of State Susan Savage |
Raindrop Turkish Coffee Night series continued with a marvelous program. Over three years, Raindrop Turkish House Oklahoma branch offers Coffee Nights for ladies once a month. Ladies not only enjoy henna parties, delicious food and fun surprises, but they also discuss timely issues that touch upon women's lives. Through discussions on these important issues, Raindrop provides a free platform on which women can express themselves and enrich their minds. (November 6, 2009, Oklahoma City, OK) The theme of this month's program was "Women and Politics." Guests from various backgrounds discussed the ways to empower women in politics and in public service. They touched upon the challenges that women public servants encounter as they purse their careers. Raindrop ladies were honored to host two distinguished speakers: Lt. Governor Jari Askins and Secretary of State Susan Savage of Oklahoma. Askins and Savage shed light on these issues and shared their experiences with the guests.
After all these serious talk, be ready for the surprise of the night! Turkish folk dance group enchanted the quests with their performance. As always, there were fun games, authentic gifts, warm conversations, and delicious food from Turkish cuisine. Please mark your calendar that the next Turkish Coffee Night will be on December 4th. The theme of the program is "Women and Spirituality."
