Raindrop Women Association held its third luncheon, bringing together Joan Perry-Austin, RN. and ladies from the Turkish community. The topic of the event was women and child health. Mrs. Perry-Austin's answer to one of the questions directed on the secret to staying young was "to keep yourselves and your minds busy at all times". Her tour of the Raindrop Turkish House left Dr. Perry-Austin impressed with its unique design and fascinating décor. (March 23, 2009, Houston,TX )

As a part of the Raindrop Women Association luncheon series, Captain Kent from the Houston Fire Department was with us to talk about working as a female in the field and to provide some tips about fire safety. Captain Kent is a mother of three who has been working for the fire department for over 19 years. She was the fourth out of a 101 female firefighters to join the team 19 years ago when she first started as an officer.
Here are some interesting facts and tips we picked up from her friendly presentation: (February 18, 2009, Houston, TX)
