Turkic Cultures and Children's Festival Print E-mail

turkishfestivallogo_rdf.png From the need of a festival with Turkic taste in Houston, Raindrop Foundation proudly sponsors and organizes splendid event; Turkic Cultures and Children's Festival . This big event will be the first of its kind in Texas which aims to introduce mosaic of Turkic cultures not only Turkish but also Turkmen, Kazakh, Azerbaijan, Uzbek and Kirghiz.

Date: September 8-9, 2007 Days: Saturday and Sunday Time: 1 pm - 10pm

Location: City Hall - Herman Square, Houston, TX

Admission: $5 for adults and free for children under 12. Tickets are for sale in Raindrop Turkevi offices in local chapter and at the festival entrance.

People of US need to have a better understanding of Turkic world, especially, Turkey, Turkish culture, and Turkish people, whose number has been increasing at a very fast pace. Therefore, this festival will attract people not only from Houston, but also from other Texas cities, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico to experience warmness of Turkic countries thousand miles away.

Raindrop Turkevi believes that there is a need to inform Texans about Turkic history, values, tolerance, kindness, and hospitality. Hence, 15.000 people are expected to attend the two-day event. Meanwhile, the governor, senators, representatives, mayors, college professors, community leaders, art advocates, musicians, college students, elementary and secondary school students are expected.
