Raindrop Executive Delivered Speech in a Concert Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Print E-mail

 25th Annual Black Music and The Civil Rights Movement Concert was held in The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in downtown Dallas. This concert was organized by TBAAL (The Black Academy of Arts and Letters). Two thousand people have attended to the concert which was tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.Raindrop Turkevi executives and members were present during the concert as a special guest of Mr. Curtis King, Founder and President of TBAAL. Raindrop Turkevi, Dallas Branch Director Vepa Rejepov delivered a speech titled ‘Words on Dr. King'. In his speech Mr. Rejepov stressed the importance of Dr. King not only in US history but in history of world. (January 20, 2008, Dallas, Texas)

       

The main focus on the concert was about the freedom, peace and rights black people have gained after a nonviolent movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. These notions were emphasized by songs performed by famous artists such as Karen Clark-Sheard who was nominated for a Grammy Awards and Roz Ryan who is in Broadway's musical Chicago portraying the role of Matron Mama Morton. Furthermore, The Dallas Examiner Managing Editor Gordon Jackson was in the concert who was following the significant event. At the finale of the concert, Curtis King appreciated and honored Raindrop executives and members for being present on such a meaningful day for African Americans.
