As Raindrop Turkish House, we are happy to announce that the 3rd Annual Turkish Language Olympiad was a scene to many beautiful moments. Best individuals and groups who competed in preselections where thousands of students participated performed singing, folk dances, poetry and talent.
Freshmen from St Agnes Academy were at Raindrop Turkish House. Thursday morning Turkish House was very busy with students and teachers. A group of St Agnes students visited Turkish House, had freshly brewed Turkish tea, took a tour of the building and watched two presentations on Turkey and Turkish culture. Students enriched the visit with their intelligent questions. Students later tasted extremely delicious cookies baked by our dear friend Sonya Nova. Students also visited the rooms decorated with Turkish furniture and paintings. Both Raindrop staff and St Agnes team were happy with the visit and exchanged good wishes and further visits. Bright students of St Agnes were even able to make up a sentence in Turkish at the end of the visit. (February 20, 2009, Houston, TX)
Raindrop Turkish House works mostly with the support of volunteers. From professionals to school children Raindrop owe so much to its volunteers. This year Raindrop Turkish House started to provide volunteer opportunities especially for middle school and highschool students. They worked tirelessly during the Turkic Fest 2008. Raindrop invited the students who volunteered at Turkic Fest and presented their certificates. Raindrop Turkish House will continue providing volunteer opportunities for students at morning conversations, luncheon forums, helping hands activities and Turkish olympiads. This month's coffee night was a great success. Over 50 ladies in Oklahoma City area gathered around the tables of love and friendship. The theme of the event was love and Rumi, the 13th Century brilliant mystic from Turkey who is now one of the most widely read poets in America.

Raindrop Turkish House is organizing one of its most important annual events: 3rd Annual Turkish Language Olympiad. The event already started to get attention by local media. KPRC was at Raindrop Turkish House last week and they talked to the students practicing there, interviewed with the Raindrop administrators and volunteers and recorded singing and folk dances.
Raindrop Women Association regularly organizes Turkish Cuisine Classes. This class is open for everyone and participants learn how to cook soups, meals, desserts and other specialties of Turkish Cuisine.(February, 12, 2009, Houston, TX)
As part of our services to the community to become well integrated and updated about important issues, Raindrop held a seminar for parents about "How to prevent drug addiction at adolescent age?" with Houston Police Department Fondren Division.
Raindrop Turkish House Executives Ali R.Candir and Cemil Teber visited Mr. Adrian Garcia, Harris County Sheriff at his office. They gave brief information about Raindrop and talked about Turkey trips.(November 24, 2008, Houston, TX)
