The Kite Festival (Sunday, April 19, 1 pm to 6 pm) will
explore how being ‘green' and utilizing natural resources can be a fun,
creative, and fulfilling experience. What better way to celebrate our
environment than by coloring the sky with kites fashioned from
renewable resources and powered by the wind?

Raindrop Turkish House joined the World's Fair at Carl Albert high
School. Raindrop Turkish House of Oklahoma City sponsored the students,
who want to exhibit Turkey at 2009 World's Fair project.

Raindrop Turkish House Women Association celebrated the Spring with a
beautiful party at the Turkish Coffee Night. Spring celebration
traditions several parts of the world were discussed at the night.
Mamta Yadav, who has presented shows on British TV channels, talked
about Spring celebrations in India. She also showed the guests how to
wear a Sari, traditional Indian women outfit. Kaori Hawa talked about
Spring celebrations in Japan with a very informative presentation.
Mehri Ogneva presented 1000 year-old Spring celebration tradition,
called Nawruz,
in Central Asia.

HBSCA invites you for the North American premiere of the Azerbaijani film The 40th Door.
It will be featured at AMC Studio 30 Theaters on Dunvale, 2949 Dunvale,
Houston, TX 77063 (south off Westheimer) on Sunday, April 19, 9 pm
($10) and Tuesday, April 21, 5 pm ($6).
The movie, which was directed by Baku-born Elchin Guliyev, author
and director of about 50 documentary and feature films, has been
nominated for the prestigious Remi award at this year's WorldFest and

Last Friday, Oklahoma City Raindrop Turkish House hosted one of the most spectacular events. The Turkish Coffee Night, which is held by ladies every month, brought around 70 ladies from the Oklahoma metro area. The theme of this month was "woman around the world."
