His Excellency Korean Consul General Kim Jung Keun held a dinner to honor Yul Kwon, the winner of the reality show Surviver. Representatives of the Turkish community attended this event and had an unforgettable evening. They had the chance to listen to very interesting stories and taste the rich selection of Korean food.

         Executives of Rain Drop Turkevi Mr. Cemil Teber and Mr. Mahmut Gok visited the founder of Russian Cultural Center, Ms. Sophia Grinblat. They decided to improve relations between the two centers and increase communication between two communities by co-organizing cultural events.

Executive Director of Raindrop Turkevi Mr. Cemil Teber visited the Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Mr. Teber informed the congresswoman on Turkish Americans living in Texas and mentioned several of the issues that are important to the community.(February,2007,WASHINGTON)

  Executive Director of Raindrop Turkevi Mr. Cemil Teber visited Congressman Al Green, who represents one of the most diverse regions in the country. They talked about the issues that are related to Turkish-Americans and Mr. Teber thanked him for his time and interest that he showed on these issues.

His Excellency Consul of Netherlands Geert Visser held a reception to celebrate the national day of Holland. Mr. Cemil Teber and Mr. Yasar Tiryakioglu represented the Rain Drop Foundation at the reception.

Both Consul General and his wife enjoyed the company of distinguished guests from the Turkish community as well as the food. The gathering lasted around three hours. The guests talked about the commonalities between Turkish and Korean languages (both belong to Ural-Altay family of languages) and cultures.

  After the fantastic Mugam concert the Ambassador and representatives of Rain Drop Foundation Cemil Teber had dinner together. They exchanged ideas on how the two communities (Azeri and Turkish) can collaborate on various issues.

The Indonesian Consul Rusman Utoma held a dinner in the honor of the new consul general Kria Fahmi. Mr Cemil Teber, Executive Director of Rain Drop Turkish Cultural Center, and other members of Houston Turkish community were present at dinner. They talked about Turkish and Indonesian cultures and the good relations between the two countries since the time of the Ottoman Empire.(April 9,2007,HOUSTON,TEXAS)

In Turkish culture generally the henna dying stands for dedication and devotion. It is performed in three occasions; one is for our sheep to sacrifice it to God, one is for our son just before sending him to the military service to sacrifice him for our country just in case, and the last one is for our daughter just before her wedding to resemble her devotion to her new family.
