The National Day Reception Given by The italian Consul General Critiano Maggipinto

The reception was very colorful. The directors of Rain Drop Turkevi had the opportunity to meet many distinguished guests from greater Houston area and Congressman Nick Lampson.

Ask to Vote for USA in 5. International Turkish Olympiads

50808.jpg     Every year students from all over the world go to Turkey and contest in nine categories to get the 1st place. This year 100 countries are represented in 5th International Turkish Olympiads. As it is known Raindrop Turkevi has hosted 1st Statewide Turkish Olympiads in Houston on March, 31, 2007. Winners of the Olympiad were sent to Turkey to represent USA and also compete with other students from all over the world in nine categories. Texan girl Katherine Schalagal from San Antonio is competing in singing contest and has been chosen for first 10 in semi-finals. However, only five will be on the stage in finals. A criterion to be chosen for the last five is to get more SMS than others. Hence, please support our contester, and help her to represent USA in Olympiads, which will be held on June, 2, 2007. To support her, you need to contact with your relatives or aquintances in Turkey and ask them to support Katherine Schlagal. If she can get enough votes,  USA will be represented in the singing contest of 5th Turkish Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey on June, 2, 2007. Turkey Trip Orientation for Consul-Generals
100_1069.jpg   Raindrop organized a summer trip to Turkey for honorable consul-generals of Greece, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan, and Indonesia. Consul-generals came together at the orientation dinner for the trip. The Raindrop trip will last 13 days and the honorable guests will visit Istanbul, Izmir,Antalya, Bursa, Konya, Sanliurfa, and Ankara(May24,2007,HOUSTON,TEXAS)

Raindrop Turkevi hosted Richardson Fire Department Administrators
firedept.jpgRaindrop Turkevi hosted brave members of society, Richardson Fire Department chief, administrative officers and prevention staff. Guests were invited for lunch at Raindrop Turkevi, and they were kind to accept the invitation. Even though the weather was very stormy, they came on time and everything was on schedule. Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin informed guests about activities of the foundation. After Dr. Ercetin's informing speech, Turkish cuisine was served to guests. They like Turkish cuisine very much and interested in the recipe of some dishes. However, it was told that it should be asked to our volunteer families. Also, fire department team thanked for whom prepared those dishes they ate with joy. Turkish tea and Turkish coffee was served during a video about Turkey. All thanked Raindrop Turkevi to host them so kindly. Raindrop Director and other members also thanked them to them to fulfill such an important and risky job for society. Irving Public Library and Raindop Turkevi organized a Cultural Day
irving.jpg      Raindrop Turkevi and Irving Public Library organized a Turkish day. Program has started with a video about Turkey named Discover Turkey. After the video, Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin gave an informative speech about activities of the Foundation. Turkish folk dances were presented preceding the speech. Irving Public Library and Raindop Turkevi organizes a Cultural Day
22.gif     Raindrop Turkevi and Irving Public Library organizing a cultural day on May, 19, 2007, on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Central Library. Program will include presentation about Turkey and its culture. Information about Raindrop Turkevi activities will also be given to audience as a presentation. Proceeding, the presentations, Turkish dance group from Dallas will perform National folk dances. Turkish cuisine will be served at the end of the program so attendees will have an opportunity to get more information if requested. Please visit library website for more information. Dallas Raindrop Turkevi director Dr. Edib Ercetin gave information about activities of Foundation and also invited Fire department staff for a lunch to try Turkish cuisine.     Dallas Raindrop Turkevi organized 1st Annual Graduation Dinner for graduating Turkish students from master or PhD programs. Dinner started with service of delicious Turkish cuisine, of course. During and after the dinner, graduates and nominees had warm conversations. Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin, introduced graduates of a year and asked them to come to the stage. Bosnian Picnic
dallas_bosnian_picnic.jpg  Raindrop Turkevi has organized a picnic for Bosnian community living in Dallas. Picnic was nice for both kids and adults at the beginning of nice season, spring. While kids had fun by riding train, adults prepared the delicious barbeque. After the barbeque, men had played soccer which was very joyful. At the end of the day, all had fun and was tired. Bosnian Sunday School
dallasbosnian_sundayschool.jpg  Raindrop Turkevi has started Sunday School forBosnian kids to teach their culture and language at an early age. Besides lessons, Bosnian children celebrate their birthdays and spend nice time all together. Bosnian community is very glad for such organization for their children to acknowledge their kids about Bosnian culture and language. Austin Raindrop Turkevi hosted UT students

The group was led by their tutors Ms Harriet Hoffman and Mr. David T. Fox. Visitors liked the Turkish cuisine so much that some of them wanted to attend Turkish cooking classes.
