The Raindrop Turkish House at Jackson hosted Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm E., Hinds County Police Department Heads and Police officers for Ramadan Iftar Dinner. A representative from FBI and local Turkish-American families were also present at the program. Examples of the traditional Turkish cuisine prepared by volunteers of Turkish-American families were the “Turkish Delight” of the evening. (September 18, 2009, Jackson, Missisipi)
After Dinner, following a video presentation about historic and cultural heritage of Turkey, Fatih Ozcan, Mississippi Represantative of IID gave a opening presentation about Ramadan and contribution of Ramadan to the society. After Mr Ozcans opening speech, Sheriff McMillan shared his remarks with guests. Sheriff McMillan expressed his gratitude to have such an organization and an event in Jackson. The program has ended with the “Song of Dialog: Not of us” After the program guests continued to have conversation and exchanged their information for further dialog and friendship. |
