International Dance Festival at UNT |

Raindrop Turkish House and Turkish Student Association of University of North Texas have participated International Dances at UNT. Program was organized to introduce dances of countries where students are from. Event has started at 7:00 pm with flag parade from all over the world. Turkey and Turkmenistan were presented by Raindrop Turkish House. Folklore group instructed by Mary Kocaturk presented folk dance from Black Sea region of Turkey which was admired by both students and administrators of UNT. There were many folklore and traditional dances from all over the world. (April 10, 2008, Dallas, Texas)

Turkic Cultures and Children's Festival |

Families, set your calendars for September 8th and 9th! The Turkic
Cultures and Children's Festival: 2007, sponsored by The RainDrop
Turkevi, will be held for the first time in front of Houston City Hall
at Hermann Square from 1pm-10pm.
In our quest to celebrate and honor our rich heritage and in an effort
to pull Houston's diverse populations together, we create a special
weekend within a family filled atmosphere filled with fun and adventure
for both children and parents. (adults) (or for children of all ages).
Kids will be enthralled within Turkish Kids' World and learn how to
play various games of intrigue and challenge traditional to the Turkic
world.

Whirling Dervishes are Back! |

|
Turkey's Whirling Dervishes (of Rumi) are bringing one of the world's
most beautiful ceremonies to the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.
On Saturday , April 21st at 7 PM, Houston will be treated to an
incredible performance featuring beautiful costumes, heart-stimulating
live music and the amazing sight of the Dervish whirling about the
stage.
