Raindrop Turkish House Has joined to health fairs and Educational Walkathons for Unity in Diversity and Fight Childhood Obesity.

After Mayor Dewey Bartlett has proclaimed 12-12-12 as " World Childhood Obesity Awareness Day", The Unity in Diversity & Fight Childhood Obesity has organized a Walkathon for "World Childhood Obesity Awareness Day".    50 different countries attended this event, and Raindrop Turkish House has joined with friends from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Raindrop Turkish House has shared Noah’s Pudding with members of Tulsa Fire Department, Broken Arrow Fire Department and Broken Arrow Police Department

Tulsa_Fre_Stato25_1Raindrop Turkish House has shared Noah’s Pudding with members of Tulsa Fire Department, Broken Arrow Fire Department and Broken Arrow Police Department.

Raindrop Turkish House organized a celebration for Noah`s Pudding (Ashurah). Traditionally at this time of year we make a special pudding, called Noah’s Pudding, and share it with our neighbors and friends. It symbolizes the food that Prophet Noah made at the end of the flood.

Raindrop Turkish House has shared our Noah’s Pudding this year with members of  Tulsa Fire Department and Broken Arrow Fire Department. We brought some Noah’s Pudding
for Tulsa & Broken Arrow Firefighters to share on  December 7th, 14th, and 12th  .

On December 8th, Raindrop Turkish House hosted the Broken Arrow and Tulsa Police Departments for appreciation Dinner.

Otulsa-broke_arrow_police_depn December 8th, Raindrop Turkish House hosted Police Departments Officials of the Broken Arrow and Tulsa for appreciation Dinner.

During the meal, the guests watched an introduction video about Turkey. And the director of the Raindrop Foundation, gave a speech about the roles of the Foundation and talked about the activities at the Raindrop Turkish House. It was emphasized that the Raindrop Turkish House aims to introduce Turkish culture into American society and cultivate friendship and promote the understanding of diverse cultures through its unique services to the community, through dialog and corporation.

After the presentations, the guests enjoyed delicious Turkish food. Following a wonderful dinner, the Chief of Broken Arrow Police Department, David Boggs and the Deputy Chief of Tulsa Police Department, Daryl Webster shared their remarks about the night. The night ended with Turkish dessert.

Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry’s Quarterly Delegate meeting was held December 6, 2012

IMG_0009Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry’s Quarterly Delegate meeting was held December 6, 2012 at The Institute for Interfaith Dialogue at the Raindrop Turkish House, 4444 W. Houston St. Broken Arrow, at 6:00 pm. TMM’s program for Table Talk presented by Ashley Carter, a junior at Ozark Christian College. Ashley was the lead in the Rally for Neighbors event this summer in Joplin, which supported Joplin's Muslim community after a fire destroyed their mosque.  Ashley discussed her motivation for promoting the rally and what role her faith has played in her decision to continue the focus on Neighbors beyond the rally. Ashley brought her energy, passion and faithfulness with her to the delegate meeting. The meeting begun at 6:00 pm with dessert and beverages provided by the Institute. Always Yummy! Donations received, as for the dessert and beverages, and sent to the recovery following Hurricane Sandy.

On November 27th, Raindrop Turkish House hosted Fire Departments Officials of the Broken Arrow and Tulsa for appreciation Dinner. Approximately 40 Officials attended this event and got information about our activities.

During the meal, the guests watched an introduction video about Turkey. And the director of the Raindrop Foundation, gave a speech about the roles of the Foundation and talked about the activities at the Raindrop Turkish House. It was emphasized that the Raindrop Turkish House aims to introduce Turkish culture into American society and cultivate friendship and promote the understanding of diverse cultures through its unique services to the community, through dialog and corporation.

After the presentations, the guests enjoyed delicious Turkish food. Following a wonderful dinner, the Battalion Chief of Broken Arrow Fire Department, Jim Bright and the Assistant Chief of Tulsa Fire Department, Mike, shared his remarks about the night.

The night ended with Turkish dessert.
