Cooking Class Students and Teachers held their first Cooking Class Gozleme Party on Saturday 23rd January, 2010. They said that: To have our attendants experience Turkish life style, we got together at one of our Turkish friend's house where we had great time.
We worked all together to cook gozleme. It was a team job! Some of our friends such as Songul, Emily and Leslie rolled the dough and some of us such as Sue and Burcin cooked and prepared the ingredients. It was obvious that the attendants of Turkish cooking classes are perfect cooks! It is time to be proud of them! After cooking, we had our lunch, talked and shared what we did during the break . As it can be seen from the pictures, every second of this party was fun. We hope to meet with you again. Thanks for being with us.
Turkish Raindrop Volunteer ladies said that we are going to stick to that kind of activities with American Families.
Discussion topic was "Woman and Family: the Role and Responsibilities" on Saturday, February 6th.They did one week later that conversation so grup resuceduled because of weather.
American and Turkish ladies met in the Lubbock Raindrop Turkish House.
They discussed the woman as a mother, as an educator, as a wife, as a householder... The range of woman's responsibilities is very wide, that makes us think that the discussion will be interesting and we will see a lot of examples of a 'Woman' and 'woman' as a core of any family.
Turkish Style breakfast was served at the morning conversation, and ladies said that we are going to stick to morning conversation meetings.
We were glad to host ladies and in the Riandrop Turkish House. Turkish House will continue hosting this kind of activities in Lubbock.
