 Teachers from different public schools of Jackson, MS were guests at Jackson Raindrop Turkish House on April 23, 2010. Guests watched a short video clip about Turkey which was prepared by Raindrop Turkish House. The representative of Jackson Raindrop Turkish House Mahmut Gok, gave a brief information about Turkey, Raindrop Turkish House and Turkish Art called "Ebru". Additionally, the regional representative of Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians (TCAE) Fatih Ozcan introduced and played turkish musical instrument called "Saz". HCC Students visited to Jackson Turkish House |

Dr. Sheila Hailey, Chair of History and Political Science Department at HCC, and her students visited to Jackson Turkish House. On behalf of Turkish House, Azamat Kolbaev, MBA student at MC, gave brief information about Raindrop Turkish House and its activities and programs. Students enjoyed Turkish Baklava a well as seeing Ebru Exhibition known as Art of Marbling.

Brad Pigott (United States Attorney, Southern District of Mississippi, 1994-2001) informed about Jackson Raindrop Turkish House and its grassroots activities and programs as well as upcoming intercultural trips to Turkey. They watched short movie called “Discover Turkey”. They also enjoyed Turkish Cuisine prepared by Turkish House volunteers.

Jackson Raindrop Women Association (RWA) organized a program named: "Role of Women in Turkish Society" on April 17, 2010. Program was presented by Dr. Maria Curtis to express Turkish and Turkish-American women's experiences in inter cultural initiatives and Turkish women who work in various areas in the national and international media exploring alternative conceptions of cultural, religious identities and modernity.

Uzbek Pilaf is served to guest of Friday Socials. Bakhtiyor Rasulev, Uzbek Faculty at Jackson State University, cooked Uzbek Pilaf for this week’s Friday Socials.
What is Uzbek Pilaf?
It is is commonly prepared with lamb or mutton, browned in lamb fat or vegetable oil, and then stewed for several hours with fried onions and carrots, although beef could be substituted in a pinch.

Watch Turkish Movies at Jackson Raindrop Turkish House |
 Jackson Raindrop Turkish House volunteers organized Turkish Movie evening on Friday, March 19, 2010. Guests were served with Turkish cookies and tea before starting to watch the movie called "Babam ve Oglum". Despite the fact that the movie was in Turkish language with English subtitles every one was watching it attentively. Actors and actresses were wonderful and it was impossible not to be touched after watching the movie.
