The conservatively dressed women rushed to get in line when asked if they wanted a free tattoo. One by one, they sat and watched an artist adorn their hands and arms with intricate designs that some call fooffys, humps, wibbleleafs, ziggyzoggys, fishbones, mummies and sprouts.

Would you like to experience a wonderful journey to see a traditional Turkish bachelorette party, “Henna Night”? (Fun, Fun, Fun!)Raindrop Turkish House Women Association has organized a demonstrative Henna Night on 20th February, 2010 . Henna Night is the ceremony held at the bride’s home one day before the wedding day. The guests are shown a slide show of what a “Henna Night” consists of. The bride enters the room wearing a beautifully embroidered velvet dress and a beaded red fine fabric on her head.

Jackson Raindrop Turkish House representatives and volunteers opened a booth at Mississippi Capitol on February 11-12th, 2010. Mississippi legislators were served with Turkish Baklava, Turkish tea and coffee and other Turkish delights. More than 100 people including Senators, Representatives and other Mississippi Capitol Staff including Governor Haley Barbour stop by our booth and tasted Turkish Baklava and Coffee. 6th Annual Intercultural Dialog and Friendship Dinner |
Mississippi chapter of The Raindrop Turkish House with the cooperation of Istitude of Interfaith Dialog and Gulen Institute has organized 6th Annual Dialog and Friendship Dinner on October 22nd, 2009 at Hilton Jackson Hotel in Jackson, MS. Theme of the event was “Dialog between East & West”. Around 300 distinguished guests including elected officials, Senators, State Representatives, Mayors, Security Officers such as State Judges, FBI agents, Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, City Prosecutors, University Presidents, Community and religious leaders and students were present at the the dinner and shared their tables with one another.

 Raindrop Turkish House at Jackson, MS hosted a group of academicians and journalists who came from different countries of Europe. Guests who were visiting Jackson State University for few days were invited to a dinner at Raindrop Turkish House. They were served with Turkish Cuisine and watched an introductory video about Turkey and Raindrop Turkish House. Guests were pleased and grateful for Turkish hospitality.
