Raindrop Turkish House offered Turkish cuisine cooking classes last Saturday October 24, 2009.  Students enjoyed actively participating in creating fabulous masterpieces of Turkish cuisine during the class.

The class was in the kitchen of Turquoise Center.

Our 25-year- experienced chef, Erdal Yilmaz, instructed and helped the students improve their cooking skills.

And of course, they joined the feast at the end of the class!

Next session will be on Saturday, November 14, 2009 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. with the menu Tomates Soup, Babaganush, Turkish style Roasted veal, Sobiyet Dessert.

It was a great experience for the participants to learn more about authentic Turkish cuisine. They actively participated in creating fabulous masterpieces of Turkish cuisine during the class. At the end, students fill out the survey.  Everybody was so happy about the class. Of course, at the end they all enjoyed the food that they have prepared. We apologize for some people who are not able to join us due to limited space. Raindrop Turkish House hosted Turkish graduate students from greater Houston area for a dinner in Truquoise Center.  Our president had a warm welcoming speech. The program continued with the Raindrop Turkish House presentation. Raindrop Turkish House was very happy to make this event possible with Turkish American Student Association.

Raindrop Forum welcomed Dr. Abelardo Saavedra at a luncheon program. Dr. Saavedra is the Superintendent of schools for the Houston Independent School District (HISD). HISD is the largest school system in Texas and the seventh-largest in the nation. HISD has 200, 000 students, nearly 300 schools, 29,000 employees and a budget of $1.5 billion.
