Turquoise Center in Houston was home to a wonderful night with its neighbors. Raindrop Turkish House hosted 120 people who live around Turquoise Center at the "2nd Annual Friendship and Engagement Dinner with Neighborhood".

Mr. Mehmet Okumus, President of Raindrop Turkish House welcomed everyone and expressed how significant this event is. He also commented that this center is open for everyone and neighbors that would like to use this facility for cultural, educational and social purposes such as meetings, birthday parties, gatherings, etc. (August 25, 2009, Houston, TX)

City Council member Ann Clutterbuck shared her remarks and said that it's very important to strengthen neighborhood relations. She also mentioned that this facility plays a crucial role during the Hurricane Ike.

Elaine Gaskamp from Mayor's Liaison Office shared Hon. Mayor Bill White's proclamation after her remarks.

One of the distinguished participants at the dinner was Congressman Al Green. He talked about the importance of community involvement and presented a plaque to James Myers, director of community services at Brays Oaks Management District.  Over 120 neighbors participated in the event, and they expressed their positive feedback on organizing these kind of events in the future.

We thank all our neighbors who participated!
