Raindrop Turkish House signed affiliation agreement with Texas A&M
University. Dr. Tito Guerrero, III, Vice President and Associate
Provost for Diversity, indicated that both institutions share common
goals and have many collaboration opportunities. Ali Riza Candir,
Raindrop Executive Director, also stated that the affiliation will help
create new forms of synergies between the two institutions and will
play an important role in intercultural dialog in Texas in particular
and in the U.S. in large.(November 25, 2008, College Station, TX)
Raindrop Executives Cemil Teber and Ali R Candir visited the Hon. Esperanza Andrade, Secretary of State of Texas. They gave a brief information about Raindrop's services to the community and the Grand Opening Ceremony. Hon. Andrade expressed her appreciation for the visit and said that she is happy to learn more about Turkish Culture. She also stated that non-profit organizations like Raindrop are doing a great job for the society's improvement.
Raindrop Turkish House hosts Chief of Police as part of a dinner reception in Oklahoma City. Mr. Citty's first visit to the cultural center started with a tour of the newly opened building and continued with the dinner program. (November 19, 2008, Oklahoma city, OK)
Drew Edmondson, Attorney General of Oklahoma, visits Raindrop Turkish House in Oklahoma City. The Attorney General attended a dinner banquet on Wednesday, November 19 and met with the officers and volunteers of the cultural center to discuss possible future activities, including luncheon programs, conferences, cultural trips, and educational programs for the youth. Raindrop Turkish House Executives visited Judge Ed Emmett. They gave a brief info about Turkic Cultures & Children's Festival's positive impact in the society and thanked to Judge for his kind presence at the festival. Mr. Teber introduced a Recognition to the Judge and said that we are willing to see him in the upcoming events.
Raindrop Turkish House welcomed the Hon. Paul Lynch, Consul General of the United Kingdom at a Morning Conversation Series. The topic of the conversation was a very important issue, "Climate Change".
Raindrop Turkish House organized a farewell lunch for His Excellency Atilla Uzer, Consul General of Turkey. Businessmen and representatives of various organizations in Houston were present at the lunch. Mr Uzer's term ends in January 2009.
