International Student Awareness Day

ok4.jpg         Raindrop Turkish House of Oklahoma City joined International Student Awareness Day. The Special Joint Committee on International Development in conjunction with the Governor's International Team invited Raindrop Turkish House to participate in International Student Awareness Day as an exhibitor. The volunteers of Oklahoma City Raindrop Turkish House exhibited some posters from several parts of Turkey and they shared brochures about the beautiful parts of their country. The Kite Festival

ok3.jpg        The Kite Festival (Sunday, April 19, 1 pm to 6 pm) will explore how being ‘green' and utilizing natural resources can be a fun, creative, and fulfilling experience. What better way to celebrate our environment than by coloring the sky with kites fashioned from renewable resources and powered by the wind?

All Oklahomans are invited The Kite Festival at Stars & Stripe Park, Sunday, April 19, 1 pm to 6 pm.

 

2009 World's Fair at Carl Albert High School

ok2.jpg     Raindrop Turkish House joined the World's Fair at Carl Albert high School. Raindrop Turkish House of Oklahoma City sponsored the students, who want to exhibit Turkey at 2009 World's Fair project.
 

Turkish Coffee Night, April 10th

ok1.jpg       Raindrop Turkish House Women Association celebrated the Spring with a beautiful party at the Turkish Coffee Night. Spring celebration traditions several parts of the world were discussed at the night. Mamta Yadav, who has presented shows on British TV channels, talked about Spring celebrations in India. She also showed the guests how to wear a Sari, traditional Indian women outfit. Kaori Hawa talked about Spring celebrations in Japan with a very informative presentation. Mehri Ogneva presented 1000 year-old Spring celebration tradition, called Nawruz, in Central Asia.

Jeff Moseley at Raindrop Forum Luncheon

front_moseley.jpgRaindrop Forum welcomed Jeff Moseley at a luncheon program. Moseley is the President and CEO of Greater Houston Partnership, which serves as the primary business advocate for world trade, economic development and public policy for the Houston region.

In 2005, Moseley, along with the Partnership's board of directors, shepherded the creation of a bold 10-year strategic plan to serve as a blueprint for future job creation and growth for the Houston region. Goals include the creation of 600,000 new jobs; attracting $60 billion in new capital investment; and increasing foreign trade to $225 billion. (April 8, 2009, Houston, TX)
