The Raindrop Turkish House at Jackson hosted Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm E., Hinds County Police Department Heads and Police officers for Ramadan Iftar Dinner. A representative from FBI and local Turkish-American families were also present at the program. Examples of the traditional Turkish cuisine prepared by volunteers of Turkish-American families were the “Turkish Delight” of the evening. (September 18, 2009, Jackson, Missisipi)
Raindrop Turkish House hosted about 1200 people for Bayram Celebration in Turquoise
Center. New Turkish Consulate Akil Oktem visited our center and meet with the
Turkish Community. Raindro Kids Club presented Bayram Celebration Program for
the kids from 12:30 pm. to 4:00 pm.

Raindrod Turkish House hosted its second annual friendship and engagement dinner with Houston Police Department.
Assistant Chief of Police Department Kirk Munden shared his remarks with the community. President Mehmet Okumus presented an Appreciation Certificate to Fondren Patrol Division for their hard work and dedication to our community. Captain Spears from Fondren division and Stephen Daniels from Houston Police department shared their remarks with the community. The program was over with the group picture in our lobby.
Turquoise Center in Houston was home to a wonderful night with its neighbors. Raindrop Turkish House hosted 120 people who live around Turquoise Center at the "2nd Annual Friendship and Engagement Dinner with Neighborhood".
Mr. Mehmet Okumus, President of Raindrop Turkish House welcomed everyone and expressed how significant this event is. He also commented that this center is open for everyone and neighbors that would like to use this facility for cultural, educational and social purposes such as meetings, birthday parties, gatherings, etc. (August 25, 2009, Houston, TX)
Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, spoke at Raindrop Forum - Morning Conversation Series. The topic was "Making Texas World-Class in a Global Economy".
Ms.Combs serves as the state's chief financial officer. She manages the state's treasury operations to monitor Texas' fiscal health, guides legislative decision makers by estimating state revenues and ensures state taxes are collected fairly and efficiently to fund vital programs and services for the people of Texas.
Turkish Classes for the Fall season are starting on August 24. Class sessions will take place in Turquoise Center in Houston every Monday and Wednesday between 6 - 8 pm.
