Geçen sene Houston merkezli Ike Kasırgası can ve mal kaybına sebep olmuş, biz de Raindrop Helping Hands olarak Katrina, Rita ve Gustav sırasında yapmış olduğumuz organizasyonlarda olduğu gibi sizlerin yanında olabilmek için üç şehirde 24 saat kesintisiz çalışan kriz masaları oluşturmuştuk.

Bu sene sizleri herhangibir felaket olmadan önce alınabilecek bazı tedbirlerle ilgili tekrardan bilgilendirmek istedik.

Dear Houstonians,

As you all know, we were hit by hurricane Ike last year which caused life and property losses.

As Raindrop Helping Hands, based on our previous experiences, we would like to remind you of some safety tips in case of a hurricane; hurricane season is between June 1st and November 30th. 1.

We wish you all a safe summer and fall without any hurricane:

Andrew W. Griffin, the editor of Red Dirt Report in Oklahoma prepared a special news about Raindrop Turkish House. He mentions that:

"Operating in six states and now open and active in Oklahoma City, the Raindrop Turkish House is a non-profit, cultural and social organization that promotes Turkish life and customs in America.

It is also an amazing resource for interested folks who want to know more about the fascinating country of Turkey and Turkish culture.

Raindrop Forum welcomed Dr. Abelardo Saavedra at a luncheon program. Dr. Saavedra is the Superintendent of schools for the Houston Independent School District (HISD).

HISD is the largest school system in Texas and the seventh-largest in the nation. HISD has 200, 000 students, nearly 300 schools, 29,000 employees and a budget of $1.5 billion. (June 23, 2009, Houston, TX)

You can comfortably (!) have a heart attack now in and around Turquoise Center since there are many people with a CPR certificate.

Turquoise Center was home to a sweet rush among volunteers, staff and community members. Raindrop Helping Hands has organized a CPR training session for its staff, volunteers and community members in collaboration with OakBend Medical Center.
