On Friday, April 16, AMC Studio 30 Theaters was the home of an unforgettable and meaningful night. As part of WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, Esrefpasalilar was watched by a privilaged audience at a packed theater. Esrefpasalilar is about the story of a bunch of gangsters, known as “Esrefpasalilar”, influenced and transformed by the teachings of a preacher who has just been appointed to a neighborhood. Esrefpasalilar gives important messages to everyone and once again reminds us about good character traits such kindness, benevolence, advice and tolerance in a world of conflict and problems.
After the movie, interviews conducted on some audience and the general feeling was pretty positive about the movie. One spectator said it was a special experience to watch a Turkish movie, while another one stated that he was impressed by the unique plot of the film and he would actually be willing to visit Turkey at the earliest convenience. The audience, after so much laughter and weeping, was in ecstatic mood at the end of the night.
As the movie goes, “those gangsters used to cut ears, but now they gave their ears to the preacher.”
