The
official opening of Raindrop Turkevi-Austin took place on the
sunny Tuesday of November 28. The Mayor of Austin, Will Wynn, cut the
ribbon in front of a large distinguished guests. After the short
speeches, guests tasted the delicious Turkish food, prepared by Turkish
American Woman Association. Raindrop Turkevi-Austin will offer Turkish

Visit from Houston-Baku Sister City Association |
The president of Houston-Baku sister City Association Irada Akhoundova with some of their members paid a visit to Rain Drop Turkevi. Ms. Akhoundova and our executive Director, Cemil Teber shared ideas about working together in different activities such as soccer tournaments, classes in Azerbaijan language and exhibits on cultural arts. Consul General of Turkey in Houston, His Excellency Ambassador Atila Uzer, and Consul Ali FIndik visited Rain Drop Turkevi on March 8. The
participants included representatives from various foundations and
associations including, IID, IICP, and Citadel. The executive Director
of Rain Drop Foundation, Cemil Teber, was the host of the event. The
evening started with dinner and continued as the guests sipped their
tea. Mr. Teber made a presentation containing the history of Rain Drop
Foundation and some of the current and planned activities. Mr.
Uzer congratulated the work that Rain Drop has been doing and made
several suggestions throughout the evening.

A Dinner Party to Honor the Veterans of Korean War |

Honorable Consul General of
South Korea Kim Jung and his wife had the representatives of Rain Drop
Turkevi and the IICP at a dinner party to honor the veterans of Korean
war. Honorable Consul greeted his guests in Turkish. He joked "Ben Kim'im, siz kimsiniz?". He suggested that we should organize a meeting to introduce the Korean businessmen to their Turkish counterparts at the Turkevi.

in Houston attended the farewell dinner of the Indonesian Consul

Congresswoman Hon. Eddie Bernice Johnson has visited Raindrop Turkevi in Dallas on 16th of September, 2006. Raindrop Turkevi has served congresswoman and her team delicious dishes from Turkish cuisine. After the dinner there was a video presentation about her programme. Preceding the video show, she gave an inforative speech. Members of Raindrop Turkevi asked questions and she answered after her speech, wholeheartedly. GamTex Foundation was established on 02.18.2007 |
Dallas
Gambian Community has met on Dallas Raindrop Turkevi to establish their
own foundation which is inspired by Raindrop Foundation. Gambians
meeting has started at 4:30 pm and lasted for two hours on 18 of
February, 2007, Sunday. During their meeting Raindrop Turkevi Parking
lot was not that full even on the business days. More than fifty
Gambians came together to elect president and chairmen for Gambian
Foundation. After a long discussions and voting, Mr. Hasan Touray was
elected as a President, informs Assistant Chairman Mr. Momodou
Krubally. Foundation was name as GamTex (Gambian Texas) Foundation, as
it was reported by member of GamTex Mr. Abubacarr Sowe. As a Raindrop
Foundation we wish best to newly established GamTex and seeking to
