Raindrop Turkevi hosted Richardson Fire Department Administrators |
Raindrop Turkevi hosted brave members of society, Richardson Fire Department chief, administrative officers and prevention staff. Guests were invited for lunch at Raindrop Turkevi, and they were kind to accept the invitation. Even though the weather was very stormy, they came on time and everything was on schedule. Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin informed guests about activities of the foundation. After Dr. Ercetin's informing speech, Turkish cuisine was served to guests. They like Turkish cuisine very much and interested in the recipe of some dishes. However, it was told that it should be asked to our volunteer families. Also, fire department team thanked for whom prepared those dishes they ate with joy. Turkish tea and Turkish coffee was served during a video about Turkey. All thanked Raindrop Turkevi to host them so kindly. Raindrop Director and other members also thanked them to them to fulfill such an important and risky job for society. Turkey Trip Orientation for Consul-Generals |
 Raindrop organized a summer trip to Turkey for honorable consul-generals of Greece, Pakistan, Russia, South Korea, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan, and Indonesia. Consul-generals came together at the orientation dinner for the trip. The Raindrop trip will last 13 days and the honorable guests will visit Istanbul, Izmir,Antalya, Bursa, Konya, Sanliurfa, and Ankara (May24,2007,HOUSTON,TEXAS)

Irving Public Library and Raindop Turkevi organized a Cultural Day |
 Raindrop Turkevi and Irving Public Library organized a Turkish day.
Program has started with a video about Turkey named Discover Turkey.
After the video, Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin
gave an informative speech about activities of the Foundation. Turkish
folk dances were presented preceding the speech. During the folk
dances, dances invited children and adults to dance together so they
can experience dance by themselves. Both kids and adults had fun on the

Memorial Day of Srebrenica |
Bosnian and Turkish communities of Dallas came together at Raindrop
Foundation to remember martyrs of Srebrenica. There was a tragic event
in which 8000 Bosnian men were massacred by the Serbians in July 1995,
in a small city of Srebrenica. Memorial Day program started with an
informational session about the event and followed by hymn performed by
the Bosnian Sunday school students of Dallas and Forth Worth. Preceding
condemning such an atrocious event, program continued with collective
prayers for the men who died in Srebrenica and also for a peaceful
world. Both Turkish and Turkmen community expressed their sympathy with
Bosnian grief. After the program, dishes from Turkish and Bosnian
cuisine were served. Raindrop Turkevi wishes that such tragic events
will not occur anymore and only taught at history classes in school. (15, July, 2007, Dallas)

1st Annual Graduation Dinner |
Dallas Raindrop Turkevi organized 1st Annual Graduation Dinner for graduating Turkish students from master or PhD programs. Dinner started with service of delicious Turkish cuisine, of course. During and after the dinner, graduates and nominees had warm conversations. Director of Dallas Raindrop Turkevi Dr. Edib Ercetin, introduced graduates of a year and asked them to come to the stage.  Dallas Raindrop Turkevi executives visiteed Richardson Fire Department Chief Mr. Alan Palomba. They have talked about difficulties of being fire fighter and a chief as well.  Raindrop Turkevi has started Sunday School forBosnian kids to teach
their culture and language at an early age. Besides lessons, Bosnian
children celebrate their birthdays and spend nice time all together.
Bosnian community is very glad for such organization for their children
to acknowledge their kids about Bosnian culture and language. Their
happyness can be observed from parents faces when they come to Raindrop

Austin Raindrop Turkevi hosted UT students |
 Austin Raindrop Turkevi was visited by UT students as a field trip. It was exciting to host diverse group of students from different parts of the world. The group was led by their tutors Ms Harriet Hoffman and Mr. David T. Fox. Visitors liked the Turkish cuisine so much that some of them wanted to attend Turkish cooking classes.  Raindrop Turkevi has organized a picnic for Bosnian community living in
Dallas. Picnic was nice for both kids and adults at the beginning of
nice season, spring. While kids had fun by riding train, adults
prepared the delicious barbeque. After the barbeque, men had played
soccer which was very joyful. At the end of the day, all had fun and
